When you rev the engine and then just as the revs start to drop back down.

I have a 'raspy' sound on the engine just after the peak of a rev. Also there is a 'bumbling' noise that seems to be coming from the back box of the exhuast... does this suggest a problem with tuning or a hole in the exhaust do you think?

I was also told that it was due to 'dirt' from the road. The dealer slipped up and told me it was due to the 'material' in the brake pads that has replaced the more dangerous substance asbestos. I therefore suggested that because the nature of the problem was based on the workmanship of the parts, t...

1. Squeal started within 2 months. less than 3000 miles. 2. Dealer attempted to fix the problem, only after I pursuaded them that the work was VERY necessary. Even though peugeot admitted they shouldn't have charged me for the problem after I complained I was still charged. 3. They 'De-lazed' (?) th...

Well, I guess the answer to the fact that they will only fix the brakes once is to pay for it (although it is painful) and then keep getting them fixed time after time after time on the workmanship warranty that comes with the repair... usually 3 months or 1k miles isn't it?! Quite simply if they do...

Just a quick Q. What are your rights when it comes to getting the squealing brakes fixed?! I only asked because mine need doing again and last time it happened I got so much greif from A) peugeot and B) the dealer as to who was responsible for the cost of the work. They said I had to pay. I said The...

well the ariel wasn't visibly bent... or at least it didn't look any different. I had no reason to suspect there could be anything wrong and it only got caught by the roof by a few millimetres but that was enough to pull it in a and trap it!

Haven't opened my roof in a while... so the other day in a car park I put it down just to check everything was in working order.... Went down fine.... but on putting the roof back up the ariel became trapped in the mechanism and sheared into little strands. Now I haven't touched the ariel so I can o...

My brakes have been looked at and fixed twice due to squeal problems. They started squealing again after each 'operation' within a week. This is a serious problem. (a) People actually look towards the car when I brake as the squeal is that obvious and bad. (b) Every passenger I give a lift to commen...

Sounds like strange stuff? What is it supposed to do? I haven't heard of that before. I want self re-inflating tyres like on a james bond bmw! The whole nail thing made me think though.... I noticed that my tyre was slightly lower than normal in terms of pressure when I set off from birmingham. It w...

Yes - you have a point there.

But I have never know a particular problem like this affect so many individual owners.

Plus the fact that the problem returns so quickly after it is solved. This must surely mean that there is a fundamental problem with the braking system somewhere.

Well, I got a nail through my tyre yesterday. Quite strange that I had no spare to get me out of trouble, but at least I noticed it while it was on the drive and not half way through a journey. The AA tyre serve people were very good. Although they didn't have the tyre at 1am they got it for first t...

My oil indicator on the dash always shows low. It tests normal on the dip-stick though.

Quite un-nerving. But the only thing that really does concern me about oil is some smoke that I occasionally see from the exhaust.

To me, whether or not something should be covered by warranty shouldn't be determined by 'a permanent fix'. It should be fixed if it shouldn't break in that way. Squeaky brakes are unnacceptable. The only people I know who drive cars with brakes that squeal (other than my brand new pug) are people w...

Can't believe it's brake dust..... I mean, it might be, but if it is it shouldn't be happening like this. Personally I believe a poor asbestos replacement is being used. I've had 3 brand new peugeots, both did over 35,000 miles and never once had this problem. My 206cc was at 4000 miles when this fi...
