I have had automatics for many years because of a back problem and a lot ot town driving. I have an automatic CC that I bought in March 2002 and I am, now, very pleased with it. For the first six mnths I had nothing but trouble. Some of the problms were the same as for other CCs but specifically for...

In the manual it says that when the battery in the key is getting low there will be a message on the display (presumably the one on the dash).

Has anyone seen this warning :?: Anyone know whether you can rely on it

I took the IAM test nearly 30 years ago after I had had two accidents, then again about four years ago. It's greatest benefit for me has been to improve my anticipation of the road ahead and I'm sure it's helped me avoid several more crashes over the years. It's not about speed (except when it's app...

Had new-style pads fitted one week ago and the squeak & clunks have gone completely. Brakes weren't as effective to begin with but they seem to have settled in. It'll take a while before I will unthinkingly brake without expecting the noise. :? Tim Brinton in Cambridge did the replacement under ...

1. about 6000 miles
2. Yes
3. Refaced pads
4. Yes, but only for about 1000 miles
5. I can't see any markings (not really sure what brake pads look like or which part of the brake mechanism is the pad, sorry)

It's all very well saying 'get a new one if it's stolen' but that takes months from ordering. You'd have to buy another temporary car and the depreciation on that would outweigh the cost of the tracker. That's why I've got one on mine.

Silence is Golden :P No more squeaks:!: It'll take a while before I can brake without wincing, though. I took mine to Tim Brinton in Cambridge yesterday. I asked them to replace the pads as I didn't want to faff about taking it back in a few hundred miles. When I went to collect it they said they ha...

Does anyone else agree with me that the CC horn is a pathetic little pooper? Other road users inlcuding pedestians just laugh when I use it (and then laugh even more when I have to jam on the brakes and they hear the squeaking) I plan to fit a second horn if possible - I think there's room bu...

If you do leave it parked with the roof down make sure your insurance will cover at least the car & preferably the contents against theft. :!: I made a point of asking when I took out the insurance for my first year, and when my insurer changed its policy I changed to another one who would allow...

I'm still really pleased with my automatic. The gear changes are smooth and appropriate and it can be relaxed or sporty according to how I'm feeling. :P :!: The 'winter' setting is very useful in traffic as it makes the car start in 2nd gear (there's ample acceleration and no labouring, on the flat ...

I too had a leak from the middle of the top of the driver's window where the rubber seals on the folding roof sections are supposed to meet. After rain there was a cascade of water onto my right forearm when I braked. Folding down the seal slightly and spraying Halfords Rubber & Nylon Lubricant ...

This seems a good and simple option - you keep the existing head unit and add any or all of an amplifier, speakers (to front door or rear) and a CD changer. I'm not going for v loud or super hi-fi quality - I just want to be able to hear classical music better with the roof off :P The catalogue list...

Gearbox was replaced this week and this has completely cured my problems. Still waiting for new gearbox, but have noticed that I can predict whether the 3rd to 2nd gearchange will work by how the car behaves when I first put it into D. 1st thing in the morning it can take up to 5 seconds for it to start moving forwards, 3 seconds if the car is warmer. Then the 3rd to 2nd ...
