Re: how to bleed roof system after replacing pump?

Replaced the pump without any problems - do 1 pipe at a time so as not to get them mixed up!
Fill the reservoir and operated the roof, you do need to top up the reservoir for a 2nd time as the level will fall as it refills the pipework
Ian, the system is self bleeding thanks for that info

Re: how to bleed roof system after replacing pump?

I'll give that way a go by just trying several times and take it from there if it doesn't work! and then report back
Thanks

how to bleed roof system after replacing pump?

Going to replace the roof pump as the fluid has gone very dark in colour in the last couple of weeks, roof currently not working despite several manual open/close procedures being carried out, fluid level is correct !, pump is making all the correct noises etc but nothing happening. As I'm going to ...

Re: Engine temp sensor for the ECU

Thank you for that info. Actually sold the 2001 a few years ago and replaced it with a 2005 !! I must agree (I think) that looking in the engine bay there only appears to be the green sensor present. Got a few other jobs to do this afternoon and Saturday so I'll spent time trying a few things. Don't...

Engine temp sensor for the ECU

My 2.0 ltr has been running a little rough on start up but fine once up to temp. My basic code reader comes up with "pending code" fault intermittent misfire cylinder 1 which I know is a generic fault. Changed coil pack, and moved plugs around after cleaning them, replaced both Lambda's- s...

Re: High consumption 13.5l/100km

I get about 30-31mpg on mine under urban & motorway conditions,
Don't use it that often and don't drive like a mad man nowadays :big-grin:

Re: Rear Quarter window

As a quick try, try spraying some silicone down inside (WD 40 might do) and run the window up and down several times - works on mine !

Re: Engine cranking, no start, cam sprockets not turning

Assuming that the belt has broken then most likely that the only damage is bent valves, over her valves cost about £15 - £20 each and you may need 8 or more, easiest option - find a replacement head as pistons are probably OK.
First thing is get the head removed then go from there

Me too, in the end super glued it back in place but eventually it still came adrift - they all do this with cloth interiors!

Re: Seat removal / cleaning

Think I'd be trying to borrow an "aqua vac" rather than going to the trouble of removing the covers off the seats, Did this on a Fiat X/19 many years ago and it was a very fiddly job and time consuming too but at least the fabric didn't shrink !

Re: Access to fuel pump?

My daily runner is broken too so having to hire a car. Went to it again and all OK.
Think I leave it for the moment and see if it re-occurs - only do about a 1000mls p.a. in it
Thanks anyway I'll get diagnostics on it asap

Re: Access to fuel pump?

Replaced the O2 sensors last year when I replaced the Cat. Just a little odd the with the engine off for 10+ mins fuel rail wouldn't depressurise even holding the relief valve in for 5 secs, several time in succession. Need to find the pump relay and swap it then change the pump will also get a coil...
