Re: Tyre sizes and clearance
They do tend to be more expensive ..
My Alfa 156 had 205/55/R16s and they were always a lot cheaper than the CCs 45 profiles. And more choice.

Re: Urgent boot will not open shopping inside!
Make sure that they look at the small rod that operates the lock ... it is simply pushed through a hole in a plastic arm on the lock barrel and has a small clip to hold it in place .. so when unlocked and you push the barrel in, the arm is pushed (or pulled) to operate the rod and the lock ... Re: adding a key and reprogamming
You got the immobiliser chips for the keys?
I did try adding a 2nd remote key to our CC but failed .. and was then told it had to be a new "virgin" key as you cannot re-programme an old one ..

Bet the operating rod has come off .. ours did once.
But gentle 'whiggling'and nudging opened ours ... but I think it was down to pure luck. I don't have any real clever suggestions ...

Re: lexia and pp2000
I've got an iso image of PP2000 .. might be an old version, but I have used it for a few years (not recently I admit as the main recipient of all its attention was the daughter's CC which we sold a few years ago). Now if I can get it to burn to CD/DVD I could send you a copy .. I downloaded my copy ...

Re: Which Scanner?
Our CC refused to connect once but the diag light wasn't working either.
A low amp fuse had blown in the engine bay fuse box. Can't remember the exact one or size but it was in bottom right corner area ... so the OBD port was getting no power.

Bosch plugs .. I fitted Super 4s to ours and it was so much better. Just avoid NGK plugs and you can use any coil pack. I fitted one off a 138hp GTi (same engine) but can't remember the make (wasn't sagem .. I'd remember that!)

Re: Which Scanner?
What is the age of the car .. pre-2002 and post use slightly different wiring systems .. And as you mention $ I take it you are in Aus? Did they import many CCs there? Petrol? 1.6 or 2.0? We had an early 2001 2.0 CC and still have a 2002 1.4 HDI and PP2000 was really the only software that works on ...
