Coolant level -206cc

Post by Salter »

Hi

Sorry if this is a silly question but how do you check the coolant level on 206cc 2.0 ?

It's a white coolant bottle and can't see the level inside ?

Thanks for your help....

It should be possible to see the level in dim light if a bright torch is held behind the bottle. If not, take the top off and use a dipstick.

EDIT: I didn't spot that you said 2 litre. My advice applies to a 1.6, but it may work for yours.

2 litre is same as 1.6 .. impossible to see the coolant level .. :censored:

Cheers both for your help, thought I was going mad!

What a strange design not to be able to see the level....

Couldn't get the torch behind but was able to put a dipstick in and get a rough guide.

If you really squint and look at the right angle from the top of bottle you can just about see the water gleam with the help of a torch to light it up....
