Driver side leak from roof joint

Post by MartinMax »

Hi All,

My "new" 206cc has developed a small leak on the driver side (that would be the left side in my case) it is not a big leak, about 1 espresso cup during an overnight rain.

I wanted to try the silicone grease fix recommended in other posts but I ca not find a local product and the named products like "Servisol" are not sold here in Macedonia. I purchased a can of Silicone lubricant (MOTIP Silicone Spray) recommended for rubber parts but in the contents it is listed that it contains petroleum. There was a note in some of the posts that unless it is silicone it might burn the rubber.

So the question, can I use this spray, or should I search for a different solution?
Can someone name several products corresponding to 'silicone grease' so I ca find one that is sold locally?

BTW, I found out that a plastic cup held by a suction phone holder works wonders for catching water drips, although looks funny from the outside (image).

Vaseline will stop the leak and not harm the rubber.

Update: I found locally Carlube Silicone grease (link below) and filled every crevice with it. Hopefully it will be OK. Weather forecasts rain on Monday, so well see...

This is the grease: (- instead of dot)
