Accelerator Pedal Issue

Post by lukusharley »

Hi my accelerator pedal is lower than all the other pedals. It can be lifted higher but it always falls lower. It doesnt over rev but it means that when you fully accelerate it touches the floor. Could this just be the throttle cable that needs adjusting?

Check the clip on the end of the cable if it is a 2.0 16v. It has ribs to allow adjustment.

Look at the cable where it goes to the throttle body. the clip is a zinc coloured deal.
I can take a picture if you want?

ah mine doesnt look quite like that! I did wonder why I couldnt see it, it's because it doesnt have the clip bit. . . will the whole thing need replacing?

Probably just the clip .. you should be able to pull that sliding piece with the slots/ribs up right now .. a thin tie-wrap might be a temp fix.
