Roof and windows won’t operate.

Post by Bribri »

I have just put my windows and roof down in my 2004 Peugeot 206 cc automatic. I then rotated my tyres, swapped over front to rear and vice versa,
I drove my car out of the garage to put the roof back up and it wouldn’t operate.
Now my ABS dash light stays illuminated, my windows will not operate and roof won’t work.
I have put the roof back up manually and went through the reset procedure and still no joy. I’ve tried everything suggested within this forum over the past 4 days and am now desperate, can anyone suggest anything else I can try?

Hi,
I think you are at a stage where only a PP2000 "scanner" is required for diagnostics?
I have no idea why swapping tyres or "ABS dash light" relates to the roof.
Is the roof blind retracted?
White clips swapped back on boot hinges?
System pinging while driving?
Do windows still work?
Is the pump running when you operate roof?
Is the valve on the pump closed properly?
When you open & close roof handles, does it ping?
Have you ever tried using the roof & let go of the control button for more than several seconds?
Probably a few more questions? A PP2000 would aid you and if its a roof problem the only kit I have that will reset it.
Cheers,
Iain.

Removing wheels could be related to new ABS problems if you have inadvertently disturbed the ABS components on the four corners.

Bit of a long shot, but I think the roof ECU is in the boot. Are all the connectors firmly plugged in?

Sounds like you may have clobbered an ABS sensor. Roof takes it's speed signal from wheel sensors on some models, and the roof won't operate without a proper speed signal.

Hi,
sounds like you have found a possible link between ABS & Roof.
Never thought of that.
Cheers,
Iain.

I Guess OP could drive the car and see if the speedo works. If the speedo works I would think that the roof would be getting an OK to open signal when stationary?
