Cleaning Alloys

Post by ChloeAllure53 »

I have the 5 spoke Peugeot alloys and after removing them today, I figure they haven't been cleaned for years. They were very very dirty and caked with dust.

Armed with my Auto Brite Purple Rain and AB Very Cherry, I have made quite a headway with them and they are gleaming, but there is some dirt/cake I cannot shift. These alloys have a 'pocket' (don't know what the correct term is! ) or an indentation at the bottom of the spoke near the rim on the inside and I cannot clean this bit up. I had soaked them with both products and tried scrubbing with a toothbrush, but it is small fiddly area to get at. Anyone have any tips?

Thanks!

Probably find it's a combination of tar and brake dust which has baked on over the years
For real good deep cleaning I use Wonder Wheels (the original stuff)
It comes in a bottle and you pour some into the little pot then brush it on(both supplied in the box)
It is acid based so do be careful when you use it!!
It's available in many places and Halfords!!
If you get it from Halfords they have a 3 for 2 offer on car cleaning stuff

Yes, I'd agree with the Wonder Wheels recommendation - good stuff!
