TU5JP4 Cam Sprockets Tightening Torque

Post by gpktm »

Hi all

After replacing the cam ladder sealant, I have to put back the camshaft sprockets but I am a bit confused with the tightening torque. I have the Haynes manual saying that is 45Nm for the 1.6L engine which is the one I have (TU5JP4 1.6L 16V NFU). But in this video though, they torque is set to 8kpm (about 80Nm) https://youtu.be/RCB8xY-v6-I?t=1203 and in the repair guide of the forum I could not find any info regarding the NFU engine. Can anyone assst?

From the Service Box:

Reference Designation daNm
(1) Fixing of the camshaft gear 4,5
(2) Roller tensioner fastening 2,2
(3) Ancillaries pulley mounting 2

So 45 Nm is correct

Do you have maybe the torque for the two engine brackets, the one that bolts on to the engine block and the one that bolts on the car body? The Haynes manual has three different ones and I am not very sure which is what.

1. Upper Bracket-to-engine bracket bolts: 60Nm
2. Upper Bracket-to-engine mounting nut: 45Nm
3. Engine Bracket-to-cylinder head bolts: 45Nm

I am guessing is like I have marked it in the photos but I rather double-check.
