My oil fron dipping stick looks low, what oil should I use?

There is a Halfords close by to me do they stock an oil suitable for a 2001 2.0 SE?

As always your advice is much appreciated

See http://www.peugeot206cc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?id=11235 for some discussion on oil.

If you've got fully synthetic in it then Halfords 5W/40 Fully Synthetic Oil should be fine. £34.99 for a 5 litre container.

There's a special offer on at the moment: Free Halfords Advanced 8 Piece Screwdriver Set When You Buy Any Halfords Fully or Part Synthetic 5L Oil.

Don't overfill it.

Thanks again Ron - you should have a donation box :beer::beer:

I shall give this a whirl - I was thinking of putting it in for its service as it is a little overdue (just want to sort last couple of issues first) Do peugoet use this 5W/40 Fully Synthetic Oil when they do a full/top service?:thumbs:

Thanks.

I use Total Quartz 9000 5w-40 as recommended in the handbook. Last time I bought some (from the Peugeot main dealer Robins & Day in Leicester) the parts man selling it told me I needed semi-synthetic! Told me that is what they put in customers' cars when they carry out services.

Needless to say I bought the fully synthetic and always do my own oil and filter changes. It's only a 15 minute job anyway, and I know its been done properly with the right oil and a genuine filter.

I've got to do a brake fluid change soon. That's a job that can get forgotten. Supposed to be done every 2 years, and with ABS systems it is important to carry it out. Robins & Day told me they don't do that automatically either, the customer has to specifically request it. Personally I find that annoying - how many owners read the manuals THAT thoroughly to know when it is due?
