Hi guys..1st post but been reading for a while.
I have an 03 plate 2.0 SE with just over 31k miles on the clock... I have recently noticed the above whirring/spinning noise (sounds like a disk in the engine) which only seems to happen in low gears once you go above 2k revs (upto about 2.5k revs).
Havnt really noticed it before as stereo is usually on..anyone have any ideas as to what it could be??

Yes I did mean that belt, not the timing belt, but the auxiliary belt doesn't drive the fan these days. The fan is driven by an electric motor.
Does your car make that noise with the car in neutral? Does it make any difference if the clutch is depressed or not?
Could it be the cooling fan?
