206 Lock/fob/elecrical? problem

Post by kevano22 »

Hi all,

Hope you can help.

I have had my W Reg PEUGEOT 206 D TURBO HDI for a year now, and the central locking has never worked. I've had a garage look at it and he didn't know how to fix it.

He and I have both tried to Re-programme the key based on guides on the net and none of them seem to do the trick.

I have a two blip key with LED light. This seems to work fine, all lights flash and when following the programming code it seems to react as it should according to the instructions.

Does anyone know why this might not be responding at all, how I can fix it, or where I can cost effectively have it fixed for me?

Thanks

Have you checked the fuse.

When I bought my 206 cc the guy said the central locking didnt work. I found the fuse was missing.

At the time I was dreading how much it was going to cost for a specialist electrician to sort it out.

The fuse is located in the fuse box to right of the steering wheel (where youre right knee is). Bottom row 20 amp.

the slot its in is marked "E".

Either that or the key is no longer being recognised by the BSI. A trip to a peugeot dealership and £45 quid will sort it.

I take it you have followed the reprogramming instructions contained in the car's Owners Manual?

Thanks for the replies.

I'll have a look at the fuse tomorrow in the daylight and let you know how I got on. Thanks for the tip on the dealer too, I am fine with £45. I've heard a few people saying it could be a lot more.

And unfortunately I don't have the owners manual to check the programming, but i've tried all the online guides. And my friend in the garage said he's tried programming it too, with no success.

No button inside other than usual lock on both doors.

I will look at the fuse and see what's going on down there, and report back later tonight.

Thanks for the guide - will check this out too.
