Hey
looking for some additional Tips. cheers for any head up.
bought a y plate 2.0 206 cc 2 months ago, not in best condition, but just as a fun run around , while im rebuilding my bike.
Symptoms
Loss of power, Erratic Idliing, Cutting out when slowing or stopping. (but only in the trips home else, runs fine 1st thing in the morning, temp related once the car warms up).
1st day above symptoms and Engine Lights + car sounded like a lumpy sewing machine , get me home mode.
Checked the engine diag - Cyclinder Misfire.
Changed the Spark plugs(light brown and white) and Coils and Clean Airfilter.
2nd Day, ran fine, until a longer trip home, 10 miles., no lumpy engine, just loss of power, and cutting out. engine light back on.
Started the car after getting home again, cuts out straight away, left for 2 hours ish, back to normal running, apart from hearing Puff's? of air throught the exhaust. purr , purr, purr, puff, purr purr purr puff, lol sorry dont know how to explain it , it not the normal noise.
I did leave the car running from fresh morning for about 20 mins and didnt behave badly, but I did seen the temp go to 90 and cooldown, various times, but i cant see it cooling once i have ran the car and it's cutting out.
what to replace next, any ideas, Map Sensor? injectors? fuel filter?
Thanks

Could be Monkey, its right at the front where the injectors are , can't feel any blow or suck tho.
Car is running all fine now. apart from hissing on shutoff.
Parts Changed / Fixed
Change Plugs - Nope
Changed Coils - Nope
Changed Map - Nope
Pipe that runs from head , just back of the spark plugs to the front part that runs to the left of the airfilter. some type of airflow sensor maybe?
Small hole, but when i touch the flexy pipe it was brittle and snapped in 2 places, will have to order a new one, but I taped it all back together with just electrical tape at the moment, sealed all holes, running good for 3 days solid now.

I do think that broken flexy pipe is the cause of your poor running problems. They are known to go brittle and break, and cause those symptoms. A new one won't cost the earth. You are right to have taped it up as a temporary measure.

That happened to me.
I think the part cost around the £26 mark for a replacement.
