Un-connected grey connector Pug 206 1.6 (2003)

Hi,

I have recently bought a 2003 Peugeot 206 1.6 automatic petrol. It has a few issues that I'm working to resolve, but I have noticed a grey connector on the right hand side of the engine (battery side) which is not connected to anything.

Any ideas what this might be?

I've tried to attach a photo but it seems the files I'm trying are too large, it's a grey connector with a yellow interior and has only two wires going in (blue and brown). I've had the battery cover out to try and see where it should connect but no joy.

I'll try to have a look at mine this evening for you but I've noticed the car has load and loads of unconnected plugs, some in the engine area, some dangle down near the washer bottle, some under seats, I think it's easier for Peugeot to just put them all in and leave them exposed if an item of equipment isn't fitted.
Probably saves money really.

Thanks - appreciate any info. It's under the air duct from the air filter to the inlet (throttel housing) it's removed in the picture

Ive got something similar in mine lurking near the washer bottle tube, which i discovered yesterday after changing my drivers side head light bulb.
i was going to upload a pic to try and discover what it was for but as Edmunds' said, Peugeot have them all over the place and its comparitevely normal!!

I've got the same on near the washer bottle, just hanging around waiting to get dirt and water in it... I'm sure it will cause problems one day.

Yeah i wonder what it is actually for. im going to do a little bit of research and hopefully find out.
i might get a plug for it to connect into or something as i always seem to need to fill up the water at night and it pours all over the place

Having taken a look about the car this morning, I reckon it's for the fog lights, but thats just a guess.

Coincidently, I just opened the bonnet of my Volvo XC90 also to check the oil and stuff and guess what, that has a connector in the same place without anything to plug into it. I reckon all model cars are like this, it just depends on what engine they put in and what options are ticked. The wiring looms are probably all standard.
