I took delivery of my 206cc 2 days ago and when the roof is down I can hear a loud rattling noise that seems to be coming fron somewhere behind the driver? I only notice it on rough roads or when I go over a bump.
Does anyone else have this problem and know the cause and how to remedy it? Do you think I should take it back to peugeot or is this type of thing normal in an open top car?
Thanks

Not sure if this helps or the same symptom, but also had persistant sweaks coming from behind the rear passenger panel on the drivers side each time in went over any bump. It drove me crazy ! Turned out that the frame into which the rear quarter window slides had loosened, although it took ages for me to find as it was very difficult to pinpoint exactly.

Cheers

if you have a tyre or anything else in the boot it might be that rattling

Thanks for the advice, I will try it without the tyre but I think it may be the rear window rattling so I will go the dealer on monday with it.

its is probably going to be the plastic panel in the boot where the emergency pull corfd comes out of.

These arent always fiited corrctly and rattle - 2minute job to refit it correctly. Hope its this and nothing too serious.

Gaz,
Took it to the dealers without prompting them as to what it could have been, and guess what when it came back it was still the same!
It is now going in next week for them to look at it again - along with other problems, but this time I will be giving them prompts such as ones I have had from this site.
Has yours ben fixed if so what was it? Keep me posted.
Thanks

Zippy,

Not yet. Mine also goes in next week for some paint work (see previous posting) - will get them to look at it then. Appear to have it both sides now -have found one solution - have the sounds real high and hey presto.... good luck!

Yeah, I have been playing my music really loud too to hide the rattles (it works!) - so loud that I have been flashed for still having my indicators on. lol
