I can think of two reasons, one of the O2 sensors (one before the cat, or one after) is failing as the reads do not align so it things something is wrong OR the Cat is faulty. What was the error code before they cleared the light?

Where are you in the country, somebody may be able to read the code for you if you weren't told what it was.

The anti pollution fault will come up on start up on occasion in my 206CC (2.0), this was mainly due to the electrical gremlins I had been suffering (dead alternator and faulty battery). I found that if there were no apparent faults then an Italian tune up burns off the deposits on the Lambda sensors and the fault will drop from the display, although probably still stored in the memory.

What were the codes the garage cleared?

I have that fault message, my cat is worn according to the garage.

I was told that the error message 'anti pollution' will keep coming up until the cat is replaced as the sensors all talk to each other, my garage cleared the fault but 100 miles later it came back on, I was warned by the garage this would happen.

Hope whatever it is, isn't too costly
Makes me smile everytime I drive my lovely 206cc even though in the first 7 days of ownership I've had to replace discs, pads and exhaust!!!! Lol

There are other faults that can cause the "anti pollution fault" other than the cat (such as a missfire or a faulty lambda sensor) The fault codes that your garage cleared, could have confirmed the cause.
