Hi all my wife's 1.6 hdi 55 plate needs a new battery but i thought it had a different one to the car [hers being cc] priced one at eurocarparts and listed as type 027 same as hatchbacks ? Am i wrong in thinking it has a different one or are they all the same.

Re: what battery do i need
Pretty sure the CC battery is taller than the hatchback. If you can pack out beneath the lower battery it might work, but then the CC has that extra load from the roof ... not that it will get used that much if last years weather was anything to go by. I think my daughter had the roof down on hers 6 times!!
But if you do decide to get one from eurocarparts, then check our their sister web site at carparts4less.co.uk where I bet it is cheaper and should be free delivery!
Don't ask why .. just save your hard earned money!! :-)

Re: what battery do i need
Having had a look around various websites, they all state the 027 for both at 190mm high ... I don't think that's right as the CC is known to have a taller battery. There's a few posts on here and they all suggest it's taller in the CC ...
Although the only thing I can see that's the problem is the plastic battery box ... and a stanley knife can soon sort that!

Re: what battery do i need
The petrol 206cc battery is 190mm high whereas the one for the hatchback is only 175mm high. It is larger capacity too. I would always go to the Peugeot main dealer to ensure the correct battery for the car. I have always found them to be reasonable on price.
A good battery will last 7 or 8 years so £20 difference here or there amounts to two or three pounds per year difference over the life of the battery.
Let us know the outcome please. We don't get many diesel cc owners on here.

Re: what battery do i need
Peugeot quoted today £107 for new battery but got one from my local motor factors £54.The one on car was wrong type but never caused problems for the last two years. Now got a specific one for the car and heavy duty and hopefully all the warning messages on first start up will stop.

So what battery model/type was it? 027 or something else?
Will help the rest of us in the future get the right one first time.
