Front Fog Lights

Post by EdmundIJones »

For some time I've thought the front of my 2001 2.0 CC looks odd. It dawned on me today that it doesn't have front fog lights. Every other 206cc I've seen and GTi have them so I was wondering if it was ever possible to get a CC without front fog lights or has my car had a normal 206 lower bumper fitted at some point. I have the connectors for front fog lights behind...

That is odd .. I don't think they were an optional extra on the CC .. but could have been.

Do you have a deep grill in the bumper or a narrow one? The deep sport one had a bit in the centre on the bottom edge that is higher around the number plate. If you have a look around on the web, you'll find some pics of the different types.

It is possible to get both bumpers with and without fog lights holes. The fogs lights are also different on the two bumpers ... so you have to match like for like.

I think it's had a normal front bumper fitted at some point. It just doesn't look right.

Yeah, would anyone know if a 206Gti bumper would fit, it looks like the same front end.
I quite like the look of the bumper form a Gti 180...

No they aren't ... sorry.

If they changed the bumper for non-sport the have probably changed the wings too! From the pic it looks like they are standard wings ... the two bumpers are interchangable.

Bet it's had a front end smash and had new panels. Because sport wings are about twice normal ones they've had it repaired on the cheap!

All the bumpers have that where they don't have holes. I was never quite brave enough to try cutting it out, so I replaced the bumper on my hatchback with one with holes. You will find it you poke around two connections for the fogs but the BSI unit won't be set-up for them to work and the steering column controls will only have one setting for the rear fog.

If they were originally fitted in the factory, the bumper has a lip around the fog as there is on the CC. If not, they just cut out a hole as they have with our hatchback replacement.

Edmund's has a non-sport bumper and from the looks of it the non-sport wings.

I think there are three bumpers:

non-sport, no fogs
non-sport with fogs (fitted to LX hatches and similar specs)
sport with holes

That's not including the ugly GTI model that was fitted to some 180 GTIs I think (didn't get fitted to the CC)
