What does P0014 mean?

Post by izzyonstage »

Hi,

My 1.6 HDI has started making a funny noise while accelerating and I am getting no power. I would describe it like the sound of a hairdryer which has a minor squeakiness to it. :(

I have just plugged in my old universal OBDII reader and I can see a P0014 fault code. What does this point to and more importantly how much might this cost me to fix? I hope it is not much otherwise I will be walking 5 miles to and from work down the motorway until I have finished paying for the car in 2 years time.
:o

I hope someone here can help or point me in the right direction.

Regards,

Cam position sensor. Will affect timing- hence noise. Easy diy fix

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. That sounds great that it should be simple enough.

Not sure how to go about fixing the problem. I may pop to my local garage to see how much he will charge for doing this.

If I were to try and fix this myself what would be involved and how would I need to do it?

Regards,
