Lower Boot Panel Replacement

Post by petethepond »

Just boughtt a 206cc that had a tap from behind, so needed to change the rear bumper (done) :big-grin: and the lower boot panel, which i thought would be a doddle as its only a couple of bolts (wrong)

I unbolted the panel from the carrier frame but couldnt get at the ones in the top edge. Done these now but cannot get at the back of the plastic trim to remove this, to pop the panel off

I am sure someone is now going to tell me that these can all be accessed easier with the top partially open !!!

If so... i can bolt the panel back on but is it OK to stop the roof in mid-cycle ?

I must admit I've not changed that panel, but I know that partial roof opening is not recommended. You would probably be better off using the manual method to get it where you need to, or the actual position can get out of sync with the position that the roof ECU "expects" the mech to be in.
Then it can need diagnosing and resetting with Peugeot Planet 2000.
Hope that makes sense.
But when you talk about the trim panel, do you mean the one under the handle inside the boot lid?
If so, to remove that you just pop the outer cover off the boot lid handle, then unscrew it (2 x torx screws), then push the centres into each of the circular retaining clips and pull the clips out.
