Airbag Light

Post by MikeC »

Hi just a quick question I recently repaired my indicator and started the engine without the steering column airbag attached, since then my airbag indicator light is on.
Does this mean there is currently a fault or will it be because I started the car without the airbag and it just needs clearing (Probably not as easy as it sounds).
Thanks in advance

Latter ... so you will need to get it hooked up to a diagnostic. As it's a 2002 you SHOULD be able to use an EOBD system ... otherwise you may need to find someone with PP2000.

On the other hand it may go away on it's own after a few starts ...

Thanks for your help, there was a problem the 2 connectors to the underside of the com2000 unit (brown and Blue) both had the pins bent when Re-assembled the unit.
Once straightened the fault cleared and air bag light cleared.
Once again thanks for your help.

Well done and thanks for feeding back. The faults will still be in the memory until cleared, but won't cause any problems.
Cheers Col.
