Driver's Headrest problem

Post by Nemangel »

Hi all,

I really do hope someone can offer a quick/easy self-fix-it solution for this seemingly small problem please. After gotten my 206cc back after lending it to my brother, I found that the driver's headrest had been pull up all the way. Unfortunately when I try to lower it (as per the instruction in the manual) I found that the small button on the left side of the headrest which I needed to push at the same time as lowering the headrest is not there. Apparently my brother pushed this button before he lowered the headrest and I think it might had caused the headrest to lock in it's current max-pullout position. I've tried to see if I can somehow locate and push this button back out but I can't seem to be able to do it  thus would really appreciate if someone could please offer some advice.

Thanks in advance. :D

Sorry, are you saying the button is missing or stuck in?
Cheers Col.

Tried to say no but never had any luck!

My 206cc Coupe (2003, 2.0, Manual) has the button stuck in, it sort of happened when my brother accidentally push it in at the same that he pulled the headrest up. :(

Oh! how I could cry

Some might says it's stupidity but to defend my little brother, I didn't even realised myself where the button was until I read the manual (after it happened  )

Fingers crossed for someone to come through with a DIY solution so that I fix the problem myself instead of going to a mechanic

 Yippee!!! I've managed to get this solved, through gently pushing and pulling the stuck button in & out, the button finally came completely out which then allow me to put it back in and carefully got the headrest back down.

While I would like to say it's a skill thing I have to admit that I think it was more luck than skill
