Winter is not a good time for cars with the cold and damp. The salt adds to corrosion of parts and electrical connections. At least wait till drier weather. Is that your car in your profile picture, looks fantastic.

ABS was a first time but is still on. Taking her to a mechanic on Monday, believe it or not if it wasn't for the beeping day in day out she drives beautifully?

Re: How do you stay sane with a 206cc?
As an update, we have had the silencer fall off and was forced to drive from Buckinghamshire to Hampshire as it was a Sunday. We had the new silencer fitted Monday morning and since then we have had zero warnings zero beeping and a very happy car.
Could that have been the source of all our problems?

Re: How do you stay sane with a 206cc?
Look at the many posts on problems caused by failing batteries. Could it be that you went on a much longer than normal journey and gave the battery a really good charge??
Cheers Col.

I never thought of that. When I have the brakes and discs replaced I'll tell them to replace the battery too. I want to keep a happy wife and car

Re: How do you stay sane with a 206cc?
Could be that and battery. Small holes in exhaust seem to cause problems with those sensitive lambdas. As soon as we replaced the system all our faults stopped and that was due to a split at the back of the centre box.AndyPrice wrote:Could that have been the source of all our problems?
And we have the wrong height battery! It has a spacer for now but is a very good newish one so fon't want to change it just yet.

Re: How do you stay sane with a 206cc?
Thanks for the advice, I haven't checked the battery height yet. Replacing the silencer has been a miracle stopping all warnings. We're back in love with car after all the teething problems.

Re: How do you stay sane with a 206cc?
Don't ever put cheap fuel in Your CC. They hate it. To stay sane just keep looking at the big picture. These cars are fixable. They are also gorgeous. The new cars like these eg 207 cc 308 cc are not even half as nice. I personally think it's better to just keep asking questions about it from the wonderful knowledgeable people on this sight. Try not to get cranky with it. When my car has had her major problems I wash & polish Her & take Her to the mechanics. I probably sound stupid but theses little cars are eye candy & awesome to drive when all is well. But they don't like to sit around & they don't like short trips. You have to give them a good run whenever possible.
