What goes wrong with a 206CC?

Post by wozzlegummich »

I'm a complete noob to not only this forum but to 206CC's in general. I'm looking at buying a 206CC for the coming summer (Australia) and am wondering what are the main things that give you owners grief. (Yes I've searched but can't seem to find main problems).

I currently have a Citroen C4 diesel but am sick of throwing turbo's at it and a list of other small niggling issues. But I love the way it rides and handles which I believe is similar to the 206CC.

Also would be appreciated if someone can tell my if the Australian model(s) come with

(b)Auto Headlights
(c)Fuel consumption computer

That's a heck of a question!
Like any car it can suffer from all sorts of problems except this also has the electric/ hydraulic roof to add to the mix.

I would say that many of the problems we see on here are self inflicted by not following proper procedures. Especially roof operation and battery disconnection.

I did write a buyers guide for this forum if that helps.

The UK ones are available with the things you ask for. Do you have the allure model out there?
Cheers Col.

When requesting help of a technical nature, please give as much detail of the fault as possible along with details of exact model, engine size & type, gearbox, year, mileage, and any relevant work carried out to try to solve the problem to help us help you.
Better still, put the details in your signature.

Rear axle is the biggest problem as the car weighs a ton it kills the bearings in it.

Front wishbones dont last long either as they are a very bad design.

Front struts rot and break up allowing water into the strut bearings which causes them to rust seize up and causes springs to break.

Lots of electric gremlins lurking. New electrical parts especially for the roof are insanely priced.

These cars are either excellent or a complete money pit, I definitely wont buy another.
