The blue 206 book doesn't cover any aspect of the cc or the 1.6 16v engine annoyingly, probably because its so thick already they cut the costs down by omitting it however the citroen c2 and peugeot 307 manuals might cover it as they had a variant of the same TU5JP4 lump

The black version ('51 to '06 reg) does include the CC roof, but not the 1.6 DOHC engine. However, the 1.4 DOHC is included, so perhaps it is sufficiently similar?

.
Another deficiency - it completely ignores the fact that cars from September '91 have multiplexed electrical systems, and that the radio is protected not by a user-input code, but by being coded to the BSI with the vehicle's VIN
Pretty poor stuff.

EDIT - Got that wrong - ignore words in Blue.

Don't understand why you quoted me there??? The op already said the black manual which I have doesn't cover the 1.6 16v

Not for the 1.6! :sorry:

I think the 306 manual may cover the 1.6 16V engine ..

Yes, Sep '01 - the years flash by so quickly :(

Thanks, I have now found the multiplex thing :sorry: but I still see no mention of VIN-coded radio - could you please oblige with page/paragraph no.?

Ok you got me on the vin coded radio thing.

If you look in the reference section in the back is does mention the pin code entering system that was from phase 1 cars of the blue book era.

It must have been last minute information that was too late to be included, a lot like most of the accurate wiring diagrams and some that are non existent.

If I know peugeot they would have held the information to ransom for greed's sake and haynes wouldn't have wanted to pay up, wouldn't be the first time.

I take back what I said about the Haynes Manual. I've been trying to work out how the sidelights are fused (they are not listed in the Peugeot handbook) and I would never have worked it out without the diagrams in Haynes.

Do you know of a source for those missing diagrams, please, or are we in the dark?

I'm just a beginner round here, so am I to understand that you think the diagrams are inaccurate and/or refer to non-existent features?

So where can we get the best manual for the 206cc 1.6 16V? Mine is a 2005 automatic with TU5JP4 engine.

Autodata or peugeot workshop manuals are going to be the only accurate sources i reckon
