Driving in the rain yesterday in my Peugeot 2002 HDI and the wipers suddenly stopped in the middle?
Got home and found that fuse 17 had blown, replaced it and it blew straight away. I connected a 2nd hand Wiper motor (not in linkage) and it blew straight away??
Thinking it might be something in the Wiper stalk or read it might be a Body Module which I assume is the controller/relays?
Check the wiring loom near the wiper mech for chafing.
Try switching on the wipers with motor disconnected and see if the fuse blows or not. If not, you may have seized wiper mech, or S/H motor is duff. If motor runs OK without being connected to mech, then mech is seized. Now connect motor to mech, if fuse blows motor is duff.

I assume the BSI unit is under the steering wheel? I had a look but couldn't see any relays? Just a board with connections and more fuses.
I'll have another look and see.
Thanks
The BSI is under the interior fusebox on the right side of the fascia. There is a screw and a retaining clip before it comes free. As Col said, it could be an earth fault on the wiring loom.
Without documentation, you are working in the dark. I suggest this manual. It gives you the Peugeot parts documentation, repair procedures and the SEDRE (wiring docs). Invaluable.
Ok so the fuse blows without the motor connected and the motor connector looks ok. I removed the motor and it works when I put power to it.
Looked in at the BSI unit but I don't see any Relays? Maybe I need to remove the BSI unit and they are inside? I would obviously need to disconnect the battery and then disconnect the BSI unit?
I must apologise. It was late last night, and I confused the BSI circuit diagram with that of the Engine Slave Unit (the fusebox in the engine compartment). That's the one with relays 7 and 8.
I just had a look and I can see a number 7 just beside Fuse 17 which blows.
There are two large connectors with slide locks so I assume I need to disconnect everything and remove the complete unit? Then Look inside?

Hi new to the forum & can't find how to set a new topic - I have just bought a 2004 206cc
Wipers seem to be working intermittently even when switched off ? Anyone got any idea as to why this might be?
Cheers Ali
