Re: key fob
Did you take the immobiliser chip out of the original?

Re: key fob
Gazza is right, if you didn't take the little black chip out of the old casing and put it in the new one it won't start. I hope you haven't thrown the old one away.

Re: key fob
Morning,
I have also had a nightmare with this! I bought two replacement casings off ebay (good feedback) as both my key and spare had the buttons broken and kept not unlocking etc. So I replaced both casing and also both batteries. The transponder I believe is integrated as part of the circuit board and I removed the circuit boards whole. The keys now both lock, unlock and alarm the car but I hadn't tried to start it....until this morning when it's time to go to work!!! I am now working from home as neither key will work. Any suggestions?

Re: key fob
As above. You need to swap the transponder as well. It's a tiny black square component in the corner of the casing, not on the circuit board.

Re: key fob
All sorted! It turned out although I thought the transponders were integrated they weren't but once I'd rooted through the bin and got them and transferred them into the new cases all is good

Re: key fob
Transponder has to be coded to your car.
Cheers Col.

Re: key fob
You can get it from several internet suppliers, or a Peugeot dealer.
There are four different flavours of fob, distinguishable only by sticker on the outside and the Part No on the packaging. Which is correct for your car depends on date of manufacture and whether the car has front foglamps. Sounds unlikely, but it's true.
Do not be tempted to buy a new fob from Chinese EBay sellers as they do not cater for the four flavours, and some people have found that they do not work in their car. Buy only by Peugeot Part No.
If you want to post or PM the last eight digits of your VIN, I'll look up the Peugeot Part No for your car.
