Purchasing help.

Post by merchantofdoom »

Hi everyone. I'm looking for a cc for the wife and she's wanted one for years.

Everyone I look at has always had MOT failure for brake lines and usually discs and something like anti roll bar or ball joint issues.

Are there any recommended upgrades to avoid these? such as upgraded brake lines etc.

Any help gratefully appreciated.

You can fit Kunifer brake lines. The discs don't seem to last as long as they could, but are cheap enough to replace

If you are replacing the lines fit Goodridge hoses as well.

Avoid cheap discs and pads ...

Thanks. I'm fine fitting discs and pads etc myself. I was hoping you could fit something like HEL or Goodrich hoses.

You might be able to find silicon a/r bar bushes but the lower arms should be the better and more expensive GTI versions. The mountings are stronger but the balljoints are integral and all the same.

Don't think you can get heavy duty a/r bar droplinks like some cars.

You could look at race spec parts but they actually may last less and be much more expensive.
