New car Problems

Hey Guys,
Just brought a 2004 206 S SW 2L hdi (not sure the horse power) but wasn't planning on having to join the forum this soon!
It drove fine on the test drive but the NEXT DAY!! it started juddering, the power cuts out and it wont go over 2100 revs. (limp mode?)
The problem is intermittent and seems to come on randomly as well as a very rough idle occasionally.
I took it round to my mates house, we plugged it in and it came up with this:

I was thinking the throttle body could do with a good clean? But it seems to be tucked in way behind the engine and hard to find.
Does anyone have any ideas?

All those faults are associated with the engine ECU. I suggest you give it, and all the associated plugs/sockets a good clean with electrical cleaning spray (not WD40 !), for a start. If that does not help, repeat on the engine compartment fusebox and the BSI (passenger compartment fusebox).

I recently helped a guy out with my pp2k on his 307 1.4hdi and that had similar codes, it turned out to be shitty wiring connections in the end so give everything a good wiggle and clean up first.

Its probably the fuel pressure sensor codes thats making it go into limp mode and cutting out as it will be turning the pump on and off at random.

Hey Guys,
So, I got some electrical cleaner spray and went all out spraying any piece of electronics I could find!
I cleaned:
-ECU
-Bonnet fuse box
-passenger fuse box
-MAF
-Both sensors that go in to the fuel rail

But still no joy, the car still cuts out and shudders loads.
Any other ideas would be hugely appreciated.

Being a 2.0 hdi it isn't fitted to our CC model ... 206info.co.uk might be more help although our members will try.

But you really need to hook it up to PlanetPeugeot 2000 although as it's a 2004 diesel an EOBD compatible code reader should work ... But they don't all work 100% ... as that is the change-over year for diagnostic systems on oil-burners.

Did you unplug all the connectors and spray inside them?

I would record the codes, clear them and see what comes back. Some of the codes may be historic leaving you to concentrate on whats left.

I would try to to clean the EGR valve, with carb cleaner..
That is one of the faults you have on your log sheet..
problems with egr valves do get coked up and so do the manifolds...
Give a good clean
