1999 Peugeot 206 1.4 wont start when hot

Won’t start when driven for a shorter or longer distance.
Starts when cold. Did search the internet and see the some people has change the sensor at the flywheel, so I change that part to.


But the same problem came back. The problem occured ones or twice a month, but lately the problem has increased. Took the car to my local dealer, and did perform a diagnostic test on it. He could only find one code, immobilizer has been trigged. He could not find any other faults, so I got the car back and drove it for a week.

Then the problems came back. I took the car back to the dealer again and this time he could not get in contact with the BSI?
The car did not stop when he turned off the ignition as well. He told me the car is too old to do any more fault finding, so he recommend me to scrap it!!
Regarding the igniton not turing the engine off, I have ordered a new igniton switch from eBay.
Will receive the part later this month.



I have also read that the brown relay that might cause this fault.
I have not got the car back home, so I don't know if I have this relay in my car.

This is the 206cc forum. We don't have the 1.4 engine in our cars. However so of our more knowledgeable members may feel able to contribute suggestions.

Try peugeotforums and 206info for the 1.4. BTW petrol or diesel???
