I thought i had kept pretty much up to date with this site, checking new messages every day. I must have missed somethig or the amount of alcohol consumed over the weekend has wiped my memory clean...But what happened to pugsport then? why aren't you going there?

Ok, now i feel kinda foolish. I've just read all 10 pages of the 'is simon really that busy' thread and checked out speedboys forum as well. I can only think i didnt read any of it as it wasnt much of a catchy title.

Can i retract my last question??

If you hear of any reputable companies let me know, as i'm curently torn between colour coding or lowering as my next phase.

If you want it to look visually different - definitly go for colour coding.... Its amazing how much different they look - even more so when two are beside each other...

If its handling - then get it lowered - you wont notice it visually that much but youll certainly feel it....

Cheers, I will do them both eventually. I think dropping it a few MM will make a massive difference in its looks but I'd like to do the colour coding first but I'm a bit scared of body shops I've had bad experiences in the past (no jokes about skin care products please!). I did have to get the back repaired at the local dealership after some idiot forgot where the brake pedal was (or something similar). The dealership did an excellent job but i expect it was probably a fluke.

Ok.

I have just started to shop around for the lowering. So we'll see how it goes, for me at the moment its easier to get lowered than coded.

I really liked the idea of lowering as it looks the business.

The only problem was the raod humps and some steep drives etc. Was my Worry about the front spoiler getting damaged justifiable ??

jim .. how goes the lowering quest ?
robbie i think a lowering of about 40mm should not be to bad .. it's the 60mm drop that does the damage (and needs the arches rolled etc etc) i guess you could always plan an alternative route missing the humps out

40 MM will be ok without changing dampers /bodywork etc.

Anything more and youll be needing to make some major changes....

Mines been lowered 40mm and you can definitly see / feel the difference.

had some lowering quotes now. Scary when you have to ask for wheel alignment and get told that they can check the tracking(!) for more money. When I've been reliably informed from a mechanic friend that once the torsion bar has been adjusted the rear geometry has to be checked, unfortunately he doesnt have the right equipment.

Now have a realistic quote for a 40mm drop and they told me that they will check all alignments and adjust as necc. So will be booking it in soon.

Shame, simon offers a good service and a good price, then its not too convienient for me to get there..

Ah... I didnt ask that. But i dont think so. I'll have to check now. I just assumed the torsion bar gets adjusted and thats all thats needed.

For the 299 that I paid I had new front springs and new torsion & anti-roll bars fitted.

The uprated bars make the ride much harder and more solid... ie - it doesnt hang when you go round corners.
