For those of you intrigued by what it takes to get a CC is Australia, take a look at the thread titled Oz Spec.
Bottom Line - wrong colour, right car and two weeks (they say) away. Smiling? Yes! How couldn't one after 14 months!!!!!!

Thx Mellers, let's not call it problems but rather labour pains!
Thrilled that I not only have a CC on the way but have established very positive contact with Peugeot Australia - really think that we'll use the forum and owner data activity to the benefit of all.
Like being a kid again, except counting sleeps to CC!
Cheers

I just renewed my insurance for my 306 Cab and it's about $800 (SGIO). When I spoke to my broker I mentioned that I was getting a new car in the new year and that I'd be changing the current policy to cover it. They didn't give me a cost but indicated that for the most part it's based on vehicle value. Given the CC is actually cheaper than my 306 Cab I'm expecting the premium to be quite similar.
Let me know what you find out in your travels.

I know what you mean Rob, I shivered when I saw some of the rates you poor guys have to pay. Having said that it would be much more expensive here for younger drivers. I'm 39, have had no claims in years and have a condition that no driver will be under the age of 30. All these result in discounts. Mind you 4 years ago when I bought my 306 Cab one broker quoted me $2500. I guess the rule everywhere is shop around and look to tailor the insurance conditions that best meet your circumstances.
Also cheaper here coz we're colonials! ha ha

I'll be leasing and packaging my car so I rang my package manager. They can get me insured through Zurich for $820. He tried some on-line quotes and out of 6 he tried 4 declined because of the car (I assume they don;t know enough about it) and the 2 that quoted - one was $1200 and the other was $1370 considering the $1370 was with my current insurer I think I'll shop around but the Zurich one looks pretty good.
The broker mentioned that 2 point immobilisers were the way to protect the car. DO you know if that's what the new spec has?
Kirk.

Sorry - no idea about 2 point.
Best to ask your local dealer what the model number is for the alarm/immobiliser (different countries vary)
If yoy have the model number it will be one that your insurance company will recognise. It will be a Peugeot version of someone else's alarm - but they wont say who's

Thank you Rob.
Kirk, let me know how you get on as no doubt I will need th information around the same time as you.
Have you heard any further regarding delivery date? I've heard nothing more, but am expecting early Feb. I'll keep the pressure on here, see what you can do at your end.
