mph per 1000 rpm?

How many mph does the 2.0 SE CC do per 1000 rpm in top gear? I'm thinking of importing one from the Netherlands and want to know if I should go from the nearest port or Calais (in general, you can drive quicker than the ferry can go). When I bought the Scoob, the dealer said "keep it under 100mph (4,000rpm at 25mph/1000) for the first 1000 miles" which made the journey back to Calais pretty short, but if I have to stick to 50-60 down the Autoroutes it's going to be a bit of a slog.

Carl,

My 2.0SE hits around 90mph on the clock at 4000rpm in top gear.
(tested on foreign roads I might add)

OK, so around 22 per thousand. I used to have a Saab that did exactly that (made it easy to drive at 77mph or 88mph
