The problem with asking an internet forum about problems is that many (not all) people on the forum found it looking for the answer to a problem. So the number of CCs with problems gets over-represented. There have been a few threads in the past on this.

In the end, almost all the people here wouldn't swap having their CC, despite problems they may have had. I think that says the most about it.

Thanks for the advice guys. I am going to take the Honda TypeR out for a test drive tomorrow and see how it goes. I got a feeling I am going to love it especially when doing 8000rpm .

Will let you know how it goes tomorrow.

I waited over 20 weeks for my cc last year, ordered the end of April, missed the whole summer as it arrived end of October. The only thing I would swap it for would be another cc. I too drive it round in all weathers, got caught last weekend in a thunder and lighting storm. It was quite bizzare the looks I got, but I didn't get wet till I slowed down at the services to put the roof up. Top car for top people.

Sara

PS life would be this much fun without them

why would you want something that worked everytime?.....wheres the fun in that?....after reading this forum i expect the roof to leak every time it rains(a lot lately)
or not to work at all ,when i ask it to...

gmjones,

don't give up on the CC - i ordered mine from the dealer on 30/7/01 knowing i wouldn't get it until christmas. even after all the rejection problems i had i still took another one and haven't regretted it for a minute.

CTR is nice enough, it's fast but hasn't got a look in with the CC when it's sunny.

i also drive 20k miles per year yet still got a CC and even during my problem period(s) that didn't matter as i had free use of different courtesy cars. since my 1st new peugeot 106 in aug 1994 to the 206LX i sold in dec 2002 i travelled 140k miles entirely trouble free so things aren't as bad as they sometimes sound.

get a CC - you know you want to

gmjones,

Who were you using as an import company?
I used Broadspeed.com and although I had a few glitches they are pretty professional.

In case you're not aware, the above response from Derek is VERY significant.

In short, Derek had a LOT of problems with his CC and with his servicers' inability to fix them so after extraordinary tolerance on his part, and stuffing around on their part, he finally rejected his CC and got a new one.

I think that for him still to encourage you to get a CC is a very convincing recommendation!!!

(P.S. Peugeot I hope our cheques are in the mail!!!! kidding  )

Thanks for all the replies guys but after taking out the Honda TypeR I am swayed more towards the Honda . First of all the sales guy showed me what it can do

0-60 in first gear.
110mph in 3rd.

The car was like a Bullet, I just couldn't believe the power from a 2litre. The car felt solid and stuck to the road like glue.

I am going to think my options over the next couple of days and make a decision by the end of the week.

The CC is still on my list though

good luck when you decide to get a CC........

the CTR doesn't get the same admiring looks as a CC with roof up or down
