quick question.... I have always been puzzled by the key fob blip.
Seen as though I am working away from home and my manual is 200 miles away wonder if anyone can help?
How many presses should you do with the blip when leaving the car secure? 1 or 2?
If you press it once it locks and the car arms the alarm, but what about pressing twice?
Cheers me'deers!

Whats spec is your car?
The older models (non-multiplex) have different keys to the multiplex models.
My CC is non mulitplex and to lock it you press the big button and to set the alarm you press the little button.
Was that any help or a damn waste of time?

Craig,
On the newer multiplex models one press deadlocks your car - two undeadlocks it. I didn't believe this either until experimenting with the roof down. Sit in the car press once and you can't open the doors. Press twice and you can, therefore one press makes your car more secure.

I never knew that!!
Now, why did I think that it was two presses to deadlock?? Did the manual say that?
Thanks Burge!

How would you crash with the alarm & deadlocks set?
You should not be able to open the doors at all if the deadlocks are set. That is the whole point of having deadlocks.

You can't open the door even with the handles with the deadlocks set. That is why you shouldn't set them with someone in the car. With the CC however you can test this by doing it with the roof down. This way there is always a means of escape!
