I've not spoken to any peugeot dealers yet, but I have looked into warrantydirect.co.uk, which somebody mentioned on this board before. They seem quite cheap, and provide the same level of warranty as the manufacturer.

The reason I asked this was because I am getting a cc with 2 years warranty included. The import company want £350 for and extra 1 year (3year in total) or £450 for an extra 2 years (4 years in total). I was just wondering it I can get it cheapear than this and is 350 quid worth it for 1 year????

gmjones,

That sounds rather expensive - what import company are you going through?

I'm importing mine through Broadspeed.com and the price for an extra 2 years is £159. (for one yr it is £79)

Cheers,

Marco

I am importing from eurocar-consultants. The price of the car was good and I only have to wait 14 weeks. How long you got to wait from your importer???

I just done a quote with broadspeed and with all the extras that I want it came to £15000 (16-20 week delivery). Yet I got the same car with the same extras for £14036 (14 week delivery). So perhaps that is why Broadspeed are cheaper on warranty as they must be taking a more of a cut from the car.

I ordered my car from exclusive-eurocar.co.uk last August and was quoted a 6 month delivery. I've ordered a 206 CC SE (2.0ltr) with black leather in Agean Blue and was quoted about £13200 total, including all delivery costs, their admin costs & registration fees. I am not sure if that is what i'll end up paying because I pay the dealer direct (deposit paid so far), so it depends on exchange rates. I paid exclusive their 'admin/arrangement' fee direct in the UK (£500+vat).

Well I ordered mine in August and it is was ready and waiting at the begining of Jan (it has been tough resisting it until March !!!)
The total price for mine is £13,500, but that's for a 2.0 SE Agean blue without the leather(did'nt fancy it). That also includes managed fee (registration, delivery, a yrs tax, etc) which is £799 on its own.

When you got a quote with broadspeed for £15,000, what extras did u opt for (I'm just curious what the extra £1,500 will be for)

I bought mine last September from Jamjar.com and a three year warranty is standard.

As far as I know JamJar.com only deal in discounted UK sourced cars, and so would benefit from the UK suppied warranty conditions, i.e. 3 year warranty instead of the then 1 year (now 2 year) warranty on imported cars.

When buying an import how do you go about going to the dealer in the U.K. if there is a problem? Do you just ring up and book your car in if there is a problem (thinking about all the posts on the forum about leaking seals!!)Mine's due in March and just want to be ready

By law, you should have no problems getting your seen by any UK Peugeot Dealer, and should get the same service as if you bought a car from them. I expect the reality is you'll get the best service when you buy a car directly from that dealership...

I've not got my car yet (due March) so I can't report on any 'situations' with warranty repairs & UK dealers.

That's right. It is illegal for a dealer in the UK to refuse you warranty, servicing etc providing the car is fully legit and UK spec. A lot of people who I have spoken to concerning their imports don't even tell them it is an import, they simply book it in for a service. Obviously with warranties etc they are gooing to ask but they must do it.

Importing is no longer a scarce thing,it is increasing daily and is now strongly recognised
