Okay,

my 206cc S, 1.6, what group is it in ? 11 or 12 ?

im confused, i received my insurance documents and had to query it as they'd put the model as a 206cc (silver/black).

WHen I rang them they said eventually after being on hold 8 mins that it was a group up and id have to pay 21 pounds more on the insurance. Remember this is for 2 months, i have already paid 38 pounds extra previously.

So I check out how much it is on the web site for the year ... and it works out at 40 pounds per month.

I think they are stitching me up !! Im gonna ring them, but can someone confirm that the 206cc is a group 11 and not 12.

Pugs web site says 11 !

I must admit I thought the 1.6 was group 12 and the 2Litre Se group 14.

1.6 = 12

2.0 = 14

that is the norm, but companies can class a car as what ever group they want.

My insurance is due for renewal. I was quoted £528.00 (girlie 24, 7 yrs no claims). Foolishly mentioned arches, and they stuck £300.00 on my premium!!!??? nevermind mentioning anything else.

I've been shopping round companies and most are stating the SE as insurance grp 16.

These insurance companies can do what they like .. its about time some goverment body stepped in and sorted the mess. Ive just got a quote from direct line at 468 pounds 200 pound excess.... Cheapest ive found but thats on 3 years no claims. Ive only had insurance for 2 years 10 months, so I guess thats not valid. Changing it to 2 years no claims and its 580. I guess I'll stick with AXA and dump them after the 2 months is over. Im 27 by the way.

MMM Don't talk about insurance. To insure my Honda Civic typeR when I get it in 2 weeks it will cost me £1300. :sad: Suppose at 22 that is not that bad for a group 18 car.

Emma,
That's the trouble with mods. I had AMG wheels on my SLK. Most companies slapped 20% on for them! :cry:

Axa didn't charge any extra for wheel arch extensions and mesh grille.

Direct Line don't charge for non performace enhancing mods apart from Ecosse Crystal bonnet vents, they want an extra 48 quid per year for those :mad:
