Hey,
brought in my car tuesday to get the roof leaks fixed. Should have taken one day. Took an extra day cause they had to order rubbers.
So I got it back yesterday in the early evening. I parked it in the garage right away.
Now I got a call from my boyfriend who drove it to his work this morning.
You won't believe it : it has damage on the passanger side : apparantly they must have hit it with something as it has got a deep scratch.
On top of that, they also seem to have damaged the leather on one of the seats. The must have sat down with tools in their back pocket or somthing like that.
It p****** me off!
I have send a mail straight away, my boyfriend is going to pay them an unfriendly visit this afternoon.
I'll keep you posted!

JaRi,
Sorry to hear you are too a victim of dealer abuse.
Where are you? It wasn't Camdens of Bedford. They dented out drivers door and covered our black car in a fine mist of white paint and got white boot marks and hand prints inside and out!
Give em hell!

JaRi comiserations!
I too had an extra dent made in a car by an "authorised repair garage" chosen by Direct Line insurers after an accident. After taking pictures, I had to insist that the insurance company take it elsewhere to fiish all repairs including the new damage.
This I know has happened before on the forum and of course with Eye See. Hope you get it sorted quickly. Maybe a request for some freebie accesorries as compensation for your extra trouble might not go amiss?
Robbie.

Although the damage is probably accidental, does not owning up constitute some sort of crime?
Someone accidentally drove into our Corsa in a car park, got out, wiped the dirt away to admire their handywork and drove off. We reported this to the police and they said it was a criminal act and gave us a crime number!
Get the monkeys locked away!
Bread and water for a week should teach them to show respect! They probably run some good mechanics courses in prison so they might learn how to fix a car!

If it's a "fail to stop", that comes under the Road Traffic Act.
It may be criminal damage, but possibly only if intentional. It certainly ain't the same offence as failing to stop & give details after hitting it with a car.

Hey,
went to the dealer last night.
He said nobody mentioned anything, but admitted he had parked our car in the public carpark for about three hours. It might have happened there. As far as the seats concerned, he told he always uses a plastic cover to prevent these things from happening. So on both points he said "could be us, or not, I definitely didn't notice anything".
I persisted he would at least contact his insurance. Then he said he would order a new leather seat cover under warranty and he would repair the dent as good as he could without respraying (the paint has no damage).
Hope that turns out well. Will off course confirm our agreement in writing.

Yes JaRi, I think SilverCCe is right. That dealer had no business parking your beloved CC in an unsecure environment such as a public car park whilst in his care, and as such he should therefore expect to deal with the consequences.
If it were me I would send him a letter by recorded delivery stating all that had happened including his admission of parking your car in a public place whilst in his care (a crime if ever I heard one). That way should things go pear shaped, you at least have an original note to him at the beginning of this process setting out your grievences.
Sounds to me like the worst possible dealer imaginable.
