can you use the windstop and still have someone sit in the back seat ?

Simple anser is no. The entire area over the back seat is covered. The windstop works by blocking off the back seat cavity to stop wind turbulence. It is however easily removed. I ouldn't be without mine.

We know we 'd better not , but we do put our son underneath the wind screen; he's 4years. He fits perfectly underneath, as he's quite a shorty for his age. He likes it better than almost being blown away when we hit the highway. Underneath the screen it's nice and cosy, and he can't see the road anyway....
