well anyone heard of seti at home ? It's a small program that you install via the net and it then downloads a work packet from the SETI insititue an checks for ET life (i kid you not)
Well a guy at work has seti install on every machine ... so we wrote a small computer program that sat runing in the background looking for a file. If the file was created then it would spring up a 'Seti' message box saying something like ... intresting data packet results sent to seti for more investigation. Well he got quite excited at that and showed us all. we kept it going for a cpl of weeks. We then changed the message to say something like definite non randome signal found ... he was estatic ...
a week later he gets an email from Dr Monroe at the SETI institurte discussing his find and a sample of the sound eminating from that location. Well the sound was my mate and i blowing in the mic ... he showed everyone started hearing noises we hadn't put there and all sort. we had him going for about 6 weeks before we finally caved in :)

I had a temp working alongside me when I was working in Digital image processing and she was a bit dopey. She decided to cheat a bit on inputting the index fields by using the Ctrl-V paste facility in Excel however I had spotted this and to get my own back I spotted her mobile phone lying on my desk so whislt she was Ctrl-V' ing her way through all of these index fields. I changed the language of her mobile phone to Greek. The next day I find out she had been out and "Got herself another phone, coz my display went funny and Vodafone can't fix it". Both me and my boss were crying with laughter for days afterwards.

the fork lift reminds me of the time my cousin was working as a builder,

Their forman was a bit of a Bas###d so one Friday they got a fork lift and stuck his car on top of the portacabin he used as his office. They all knocked off for the day and left him stranded

Rob that reminds me of a trick we played on a friend Bruce, whose answer to everything in life was 'a*se'. We all had static caravans on a dz, one day we painted it in huge letters on the roof of his caravan and never told him. He spotted it himself in freefall.

He got his own back by playing the Max Bygraves version on Tie a yellow ribbon at full blast on repeat very early on a Sunday morning, just to make us suffer. (The cd later got kidnapped and ransom letters were sent, but it was never seen again)

This episode happened days before I started my first job

I was at college doing IT training when me and my colleagues noticed a set of keys lying on the desk that belonged to one of the annoying people in the adjining computer lab. We new that two of them owned MK1 Fiestas and it was widely known that one key fits all. We therefore picked up the keys and with a combination of my keys (I had a mark 2) and the set we found we managed to move their cars to the far side of the car park so that they were out of sight and we watched as they spent their lunch break looking for them and puzzling over how they were moved.
