Driven plenty of "good" cars and some bad ones. I tend to prefer the ones where the driver is more involved, so I don't need, want or desire all the gadgets.
Anyway, for my sins I ended up buying a TVR Griffith. Yes, you have to put the hood down manually (I wouldn't trust TVR electrics to build a self drop hood - no decent earth point on fibre glass) but at least it is a drivers car, needs total concentration and far more involving.

the gadgets do hold the value on an SE as they are standard and not optional extras.
a 205 was probably a good car during its time but things move on.

The 205 was excellent. Two of my mates had them, one a 1.6, the other a 1.9 with leather. At the time I had a Renault 5 GT Turbo. It was fine whilst working but in 2 unrelated incidents it blew the turbo and sheared off three cogs in the gearbox, fairly catastrophic. I have to say Peugeot had a much better build quality than Renault at that time (and probably now)

Miaow Julia!I haven't got multiplex model so wouldn't know!
Quite happy with my pre multiplex - least the horn sounds as soon as you hit it!
And my wipers have a mind of their own too. In the fog they go non-stop. In the drizzle they don't go at all.
Also...... Did anyone notice on top-gear last night they said the s-class merc has "the toys of the future", that normal cars will get in 10 years? Yep, it included autolights and autowipers
But I'm glad I didn't have their cruise control - did anyone see the HGV behind him have to pull out to miss him as the div (= Clarkson) slowed right down?

So that truck was too close to the one in front. Ok, he shouldn't have pulled in between them but if you're leaving sufficient space, you shouldn't have to brake hard or swerve to a different path...
