Dear Sir/Madam,
I would like to make it known how insulting I, and my staff, find this advertisement. Although indeed commissioned by the Peugeot public relations department it has been tampered with. The addition by some unscrupulous individual or group of a flying member of a 90's popular funky dancer is intolerable. My Secretary has informed me that this "Bez" character from music combo 'The Happy Mondays' was a regular user of narcotics and other illegal substances. At no time has Mr Bez been employed by my company and is not on the company payroll. However if my staff choose to use his services in obtaining artificial stimulants this is, of course, out of my control.
The decision to use Mr Elvis Presley in this advertising campaign was taken after a rigourous selection process (borrowed from Halifax who chose to use one of their employees in a recent series of advertisements - you know the one, the annoying four-eyed chap who is always grinning and singing "Who gives you extra, who, who, who etc). Mr Presley was discovered in our Sheffield dealership where he is employed as a mechanic. He has been a member of our company since 1996 and his record of service is exemplary. He has in fact won "Employee of the Month" in March 1998 and August 2000 and I am assured he will go far in "Team Peugeot".
In conclusion, please ignore all of the above which are the rantings of a deranged madman.
Yours Faithfully
Mr B.A. Boon
