Hi ya all,

I just had my first in traffic roof opening experience. It was worth it just to see the look on the face of the driver behind. 1st one was at some roadworks traffic lights and the second one was on the A1 when I hit a traffic jam so was surrounded by 3 lanes of traffic. Faaaaaantastic!

And before anybody says why didn't I have the roof down already I had my sister as a passenger and her little girl in the back so the windstop was confined to the boot and my sister is a bit of a wuss when it comes to being cold.

My first in-trafic experience involve the driver behing making a hand gesture that implied i like to "self-please" myself!!!! He was driving an XR2I though so perhaps he was doing it in the mirror at himself!!!

well don't do what I did 1st time I collapsed the roof in traffic.

Pushed the button, boot went up, roof went down, traffic moved over 7 mph, boot stayed up!!

Served me right for posing - (lucky I didn't rip the boot off) gave the traffic a laugh tho.

On my first in-traffic roof experience the hydraulics failed half way back, and fluid leaked out everywhere.

Fortunately it only took Peugeot dealer 4 weeks to repair by cannibalising someone elses brand new one !!! ... and about 5 trips to the dealer afterwards.

All OK though now recall work done.

Needless to say I now only tend to open/close roof in my garage, but I am becoming more confident with its reliability, and at least it doesn't leak.

i was told by the dealer that whilst this is a really cool pose option, DONT DO IT.

2 raesons first you look like a rael poser but most important, if you do this at 5mph and a gust of wind hits you at 25 or more mph this is not good for the roof and alignment.

makes sense really

I too was given a 'shuffle shake' of the hand from a passing motorist when I did my first traffic top off manouvre. I of course returned the complement through the swift execution of the 'one finger'when I overtook him some moments later.

Don't try both hands unless you can steer the car with your feet -

A 'double one finger' is a particualy tricky, and may I add dangerous manouvre.

However I agree when executed in the proper fashion, in the middle of overtaking, it does leave one with a sense of acomplishment while the recipicant feels both angry but slightly impressed at the same time.

Yeah robbie, i've done what u done before
Except my roof was only halfway down and still needed about another 12 seconds, so I had to pull over.....lol

And i find the double bird far more effective than the single handed manouver. the trick is to do it when u have the roof down, overtake them and stick hands out the roof, this method makes sure everyone sees, and makes them look stupider (not that i'd ever want to do that )

MMMMmmmmmm V-TEC u gotta love it :)
