Frequency Noises

when i start my car, i seem to have all these frequency (whistling) sounds coming from my speakers...which disapear when i turn the car off...anyone hav any idea how to stop this...or why it happens?

This sounds like a ground loop to me. The whinning sound is the sound of the alternater going through your speakers. I assume you have an amp installed if so then your amp and you headunit needs to ground at the same point.

Agreed, definitely an earthing problem. You can buy ground loop isloators from places such as Halfords fairly cheaply which often sort the problem out, but try & fid the proper cause first.

I had the same problem with my Astra I had. When I had an amp it was wired up wrong and this caused the noise, as soon as it was wired up correct it was cured, did you do the innstall or a specialist?

thanks for the replies...
i checked my grounding...all seems good...but the rcas were right next to the power cable...i moved them away...and all seems fine now...whistling sound is gone! :)

yep when your doing an install you should take the RCAS and powercables thru different sides of the cars to avoid that problem
