And while we're on the subject you can press the big button again to operate the car finder thing. Now if that isn't the biggest waste of time ever. It doesn't work unless you're within about 20ft by which time if you can't see your cc in a car park then I don't think you should be allowed to drive !!
You've obviously never had a hire car, stopped at a motorway service station and gone back outside forgetting a) what colour it was and b) exactly which space you parked it in. In fact all you could remember was that it was a Mondeo, which only narrowed it down to one of 4 cars. This is the point where you'd notice that you had the only car rental keyfob in the UK without the registration number of the car written on it. Luckily, the key opened the second car you tried and you weren't arrested by ?Bedfordshire police for acting suspiciously or on suspicion of being a car thief.

Trust me, a plip would've been very useful that afternoon ;)

I wouldn't worry too much if its deadlocked or not.

What Car road test Directory April-May:

"The cc only mustered a score of 60 out of 100 in 2001's Security Supertest, placing it 54th out of 67. Deadlocks and an alarm are both present, but the locks prove ineffective"

Still, I didn't buy the cc for security alone.

My dealer got a little confused as well but luckily I sat and read the manual (sad I know).

Ni'cc'k

as other posts after mine have said i was right

i prefer to not respond to a post if unsure or state when i am unsure in a response.

derek

p.s. maybe you should ask your dealer for the proper manual as that is very clear in how the deadlocking works.

Don't have this deadlocking system in Norway... so we just lock it and thats it... we have no alarm as standard either..

Oops - didn't expect my simple (??) question to get so many people at each other's throats. At least we're all friends again now (except with some Peugeot dealers apparently, so no change there then).

Anybody know if you can install the deadlocking feature?
my 1.6 206cc does nto have it
meaning if someone tries to lift the door pin to unlock the car it works
and my key only has one button
not two

Must admit I wasn't convinced until I tried it myself tonight. On new spec definitely on press for deadlocking not two!

Thanks for bringing it to our attention. Yet another reason why I need to chase a new manual for my new spec car.
