Hmm, well, mine doesnt seem to work same as yours then. I have 2 buttons on my key, main one with 1 press = locked with alarm, smaller one pressed within 5 seconds of first button = deadlocked with alarm.
And with roof down its the same but the motion sensors dont arm, it just detects doors and boot opening.

I press the button to lock the doors once and set the alarm. Within pressing the button again within a second the doors make another locking noise. Is this setting of the deadlocks????

Why don't you sit in the car and press the button once. If the doors WILL NOT open from the inside then the car is deadlocked.

ROTFLMAO

I am shocked to hear a man to suggesting reading an instruction manual :yikes:
It's a case of do what I say not what I do ;)

Honestly guys, I thought pressing the button twice deadlocked the doors until someone on this forum pointed out that it undeadlocks them. I even went back to the Dealer to ask the salesman who'd told me to press it twice to deadlock it what the correct thing to do was. He back tracked and told me only to press it once.

Phonic I'm guessing you've got a pre multiplex model where you do press it twice to deadlock it as I said before.

This question has been asked (and answered before) - I'm suprised people are still unsure about this but I guess Dealers must still be giving out wrong info :?

If it helps, the multiplex (2002>) - one press to deadlock it - key looks a bit like this:

Not sure what the older one looks like.
