All very good but wouldn't it have been better to start with the 2 litre?

After all extra capacity is the simplest way of gaining power from an engine! More torquey too!
All the 1.6 is going to need is revving harder and harder!

well i agree about the 2 litre. However the tuning scene for the 1.6 litre in Greece is huge. We have cars with this engine (mostly 106s and saxos) naturally aspirated with 230bhp and turbos to almost 400bhp...This engine can do everything...

Tomorrow we are going rolling road to tuen the engine better bc there are some flat spots and in the high revs (over 7600-7700) the ECU is overfuelling the engine...

Hopefully by next week i will have the results of the rolling road and new photos...

Must admit there are a lot of tuning parts easily available for the 1.6 engine. That's one advantage of it being involved in lots of motorsport.

till now we managed 155 wheel power but we are down about 10 more....
soon we are going to play with cam timing and see...

After we finish tuning, probably we are going to test a 25 shot of NOS with racing fuel...

since my last post we made a couple of changes on the car.

-now we are using Peugeot Sport camshafts
-a fidanza alu flywheel
-a Sun hyper voltage system
-Team Dynamics Pro Comp 1 wheels 15x7 (they are 4.5 kilos lighter than the factory ones) with Advan A048 semi-slicks

Some photos (not very good bc they are from my cell

and a couple of vids from a Run What Ya Bring event in Athens...

206cc-golf_gti03.mpg

206cc-golf_gti02.mpg

206cc-almera20.mpg

here we ran on a mild cam timing, 7200rpm rev limiter bc of the hot weather, normal tyres, full interior. The Golf was a GTI IV with a sports filter and 0.6 bar boost (around 160ps) and the Almera was a 195 bhp 2 liter with stripped interior (just driver's seat) and slicks...
