Hello, I am new to the site, and have just bought my little baby a month or so ago! - Can someone please tell me if the windstops are worth buying? Will it stop me looking like worzel gummidge by the end of my journey or does it not really make a difference? Your help would be great, dont want to spend the couple of hundred pounds for nothing.

They make a big difference!
Weather has been so good that we went from Exeter to Cardiff and back on the motorway with the top down and you hardly feel a thing.
It folds up and fits in the boot easily if you need to use the rear "seats" and it also has the advantage of hiding your belongings on the back seat.
£200 is an awful lot of money for it though, we got ours off ebay for about half that...

We were very nearly going to buy one, but the dog sometimes goes in the back, or we use it for luggage if the dog's not with us. So that put us off, along with the price of them. Then I thought, why buy a car that gives you the wind in the hair feeling if your going to make if feel like a normal car. If you want no wind, buy a fiesta.
Just my opinion,
Cheers

Welcome to the forum Kelly, nice to have you with us. Which model did you buy, and what colour?Hello, I am new to the site, and have just bought my little baby a month or so ago! - Can someone please tell me if the windstops are worth buying? I agree with everything lesw has said on the subject. We wouldn't be without our wind deflector. It's all very well to say "wind in the hair motoring" but my wife has long hair and she much prefers to use the wind deflector. My daughter had a 306 cabriolet before starting her family and she used a wind deflector too, she has long hair as well. Bought ours off eBay but had to pay £180 at the time - as new though. Have seen them go for £125 - £175 but the cheaper ones have sometimes had the odd scratch. I wanted ours to look brand new, which it does. At night, even with the roof up, it also helps cut down the glare from following cars headlights if you leave it up too. Go for it! You won't be disappointed. And you'll get your money back by selling it on eBay separately if and when you decide to change your car. Melanie got £150 for her 306 one when she sold it after changing to a family hatchback. Just don't give it away with your car when you eventually sell your 206cc in years to come. There always seems to be a good demand for them.
Best Wishes,
Ron

Thank you very much for your replies, all of the comments were very useful. Thank you.
Grandad Monkey - I bought a silver 206cc sport.
Neildavies I understand your point and thank you, my getting the wind deflector was not to turn it into a "normal car", I love the open feeling but I have long hair and unless I have it scraped back I am fighting it out of my face for the whole journey which not only looks extremely unattractive it is also quite dangerous! - lol.
Thank you again for your comments, all of you and thank you for welcoming me to the site, how fun, I never knew things like this exsisted!

Hi Kelly, I fully understand, and didn't appreciate the long hair business. I don't have that problem myself (about 1/2 inch of hair), but my wife either ties hers back, or she's got a hat for when she wears it down. I've heard her complain aout knotted her many times.
I was just thinking as a bloke! For me, there's nothing better than getting the wind whirling round the car on a hot day, and a windstop would obviously stop thst, but I understand why others would want one,
Cheers
Neil

well I have put a bid in for one on ebay so heres hoping!
Whilst I have your attentions!! Has anyone had any problems with their roofs leaking? - I keep my car in a garage so have never noticed but i stayed at my parents last week when there was a massive downfall and went to pull off their drive in the morning and had a gush of water pour out of the light panel at the front and drip down into where the gear stick is, not impressed to say the least!!!!! - Peugeot taking it in on the 19th to do tests but apparantly i have heard that this is a problem with these cars????

My missus always complains (full stop!).my mrs always complains about her hair getting knotty when the roof's down
Then again, she IS married to me! Must be my fault.
As for the leaky roof, we've not had a problem but if its raining ours stays in the garage. Suppose we are luckier than many, we have that choice. There are other threads on the subject of leaky roofs though, have a search through them. Hope yours is still in warranty Kelly.
Best of luck on eBay - don't bid until the last seconds, then pounce!

I bought my windstop from ebay too - brand new, and cost me just £100. Mind you, it was in the dark depths of winter, when only fools [like me] wanted one anyway. I'd expect them to go for much more, now the weather's better.
My 'old' 2001 model cc doesn't have a garage to protect it from the elemets, but so far [touch wood] has not had a leaky roof, despite some really hard downpours in the 6 months that I've had it.

Hi Guys, thanks for the replies, didn't win the windstop on ebay but will keep trying.
As for the leaky roof it turns out the aerial was loose, so thats been tightened now.
Its been lovely lately lots of roof down weather. I have now opted to just wear my hair up so as not to have hair sticking to the lip gloss as mentioned! lol, I am so glad someone knows EXACTLY where i am coming from, that is exactly what i get! lol.
good idea about taking the back headrests off, I shall try that!
