I'm getting the anti-pollution fault and catalytic convertor fault from time to time and the engine management light comes on. It's most likely to happen on cold morning but I find it's less likely if I have the A/C on. If I get the fault the engine mis-fires quite badly, but having taken it for diagnostics checks they couldn't find anything wrong.

Having read a number of things online about the lambda sensors and then having read a very informative chapter of the Haynes manual last night I'm almost positive that now the CAT has been changed, it's the sensors causing the issue. Although they were unable to confirm that in diagnostics, I might just take a leap of faith and pay for a mechanic to change them over. Should only take an hour so I'm not expecting massive labour costs and I'm going to ask the dealership to cover the cost if the warranty company won't.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration.

Hi, i bought an O2 Peugeot 206cc just last weekend. All seemed fine, no alerts. However I thought with it being an older car, a quick flush of some redex would do no harm. WRONG!!!!! the following day i got the anti pollution fault come up. I went straight to the petrol station and topped up with more fuel to try and dilute. Next morning i got the anti pollution and catalytic converter fault come up. Once again i refilled, next morning i'e' today, i have only had the anti pollution fault come up. I'm keeping my fingers crossed after filling once again today........ the fault will disappear. Whatever you all do though stay well clear of redex.

Meant to say when the catalytic converter fault was on a did lose a lot of power until getting into 4th gear then it drove perfect.
